"The
process of teaching the law is a sacred trust
mandating that a school prepare its people for
the rigors and honor of the practice of law. By
this it will serve the noble institutions of the
law by placing its continued integrity in the
hands of people who cherish its most critical
traditions. I come to the teaching of law after
many years of practice in the prosecution and
defense of criminal cases, an area of the law
where difficult decisions and ethical challenges
are common occurrences. It is my task to bring
to the students I will teach a sense of what those
challenges will be and an appreciation that, with
a passionate thirst for justice, they can bring
justice to those who need it most." |
