Professor
Frank Y. Liu joined the Duquesne Law faculty as
the Director of the Center for Legal Information
(the Law Library) in 1980. He earned his Bachelor
of Law (LL.B.) at the top of his class from the
National Taiwan University in 1965. He received
a graduate fellowship from Yale Law School and
studied there for one year from 1966-67. He received
a Master of Comparative Jurisprudence (M.C.J.)
in 1970 and a Master of Library Science (M.L.S.)
in 1971 from the University of Texas at Austin.
Professor Liu teaches Legal Research to first
year law students and those in the Duquesne University
Paralegal Institute, and Advanced Legal Research
to upper class law students. Professor Liu was
instrumental in developing the faculty exchange
program between Duquesne University School of
Law and the China University of Political Science
and Law (CUPL) of Beijing, the People’s
Republic of China (PRC). With Professor Alfred
S. Pelaez, he established the Duquesne-CUPL summer
study of Chinese law program in Beijing in 1995.
He teaches in the program and serves as its Associate
Director. Professor Liu is an Honorary Professor
at CUPL and the Northern Jiaotung University,
two of the most prestigious universities in China. |
