Dean Sekula completed his B.A., B.S. and J.D.
degrees at Duquesne University and his LL.M. at
the University of Virginia. He was the General
Counsel for the Pennsylvania Local Government
Commission from 1970-72, during which time he
served as the supervising attorney in the drafting
of the Home Rule Charter Act, the Local Governmental
Debt Unit Act, the Intergovernmental Cooperation
Act, and 52 bills, of which 33 were signed into
law by the Governor.
Dean Sekula was a member of the Pennsylvania
Disciplinary Hearing Board 4.01 from 1985-91,
serving as Chairman from 1989-91. Since becoming
a member of the Pennsylvania Bar in 1966, Dean
Sekula has served as a member of the Committee
Concerning Relations Between Lawyers and Accountants.
He has been a member of the Westmoreland County
Bar Association since 1966 and chairs its Labor
Law Committee.
Dean Sekula conducts annual seminars for police
and firefighters concerning public employee law
and has participated in numerous Continuing Legal
Education programs including the Law of Evidence
and Public Employment Law. He is a former associate
of Dickey, McCamey and Chilcote and house counsel
for West Penn Power. |
