Walk down the hill from
Hanley Hall, cross the street and you’re in Pittsburgh’s
legal epicenter. Courthouses, city and county
offices, and many law firms are clustered in
the Forbes Avenue, Grant and Ross Street area.
Scores of other law offices and corporate headquarters
are within just a few blocks. There’s no
better place to gain professional experience
and exposure to the workings of the legal system.
This convenient, exciting environment includes
many of the Law School’s clinical and externship
programs.
Pittsburgh’s compact urban center, with
all its amenities, sits at Duquesne’s doorstep.
The city’s major-league sports venues are
all located within about a mile of campus, including
the Pirates’ PNC Park and the Steelers’ Heinz
Field on the North Shore. Historic Mellon Arena – home
of the Penguins, concerts and shows – is
just two blocks from campus. A revitalized cultural
district, with a world-class symphony orchestra,
opera, ballet and theater, is within a 10 minute
walk, as are shopping, dining and nightlife downtown,
in the Strip District and nearby Station Square.
Pittsburgh’s eclectic
neighborhoods and competitive cost of living
make it an attractive place to study, live
and work.
