Duquesne Intellectual
Property Law Association
The Duquesne Intellectual Property Law Association
is dedicated to
promoting the study, awareness, and advancement of intellectual property law
at Duquesne
Law School, and to providing a forum for the discussion of intellectual
property law among the students and faculty. Every year, DIPLA hosts meetings
at which
legal professionals speak to members about relevant intellectual property law
topics. These speakers provide information about contemporary
IP law issues, and provide useful contacts
in the legal community for law students.
DIPLA
also serves
to introduce its members to larger intellectual property law organizations
like PIPLA (the Pittsburgh Intellectual
Property Law Association) and AIPLA (the
American Intellectual Property Law Association) by keeping its members
informed of
activities and opportunities offered by those organizations. Finally, DIPLA
serves as
an intermediary between its members and the
Law School's Career Services Office, so that
students who are interested in careers in IP
law will have access
to the most relevant information and opportunities which may enhance their
career
goals.
