Webex Video Conferencing

Cicso Webex is used for synchronous online courses and other video conferencing needs in the School of Law. Duquesne University also has a site license for another video conferencing tool, GoToMeeting.

Technical Requirements

An internet connection and a computer with a webcam, microphone and speakers (all laptops should have this). External cameras and mics typically provide superior quality. iPads or smartphones will not provide an acceptible experience.  When starting or connecting to a meeting you will be prompted to download/install a small plugin (admin access to the computer to install it may be required).

Instructions for Meeting Hosts

The meeting host is the person holding the meeting. Contact the IT Department to make arrangements to host a meeting or for the login credentials. Hosts can login at https://duqlaw.my.webex.com

You will want to begin the video conference meeting at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows time for you and attendees to ensure cameras and mics are operating properly. The most common problem is not having the camera and mic turned on.
