eCode360 (Muncipal Codes)

Free access to select local municipal codes is available via eCode360 by General Code.  Library patrons also have in library access to the subscription version of eCode360 which allows for more advanced searching and provides access to ordinances not yet incorporated into the code.  Please ask at the  Circulation Desk for login information.



Fastcase gives access to federal law, state law in all 50 states, and special courts including the Board of Tax Appeals and U.S. Customs Court. Loislaw treatises are also included.  A Borrower's card is required for login at at the library and/or remotely. Access is limited to Borrower's Card holders at firms with 60 or fewer lawyers.

HeinOnline provides a number of search and browse features for over two hundred law reviews and the Federal Register, providing the exact page image of legal journals.  Journal holdings typically begin from a journal's inception to its most current volume. The library's subscription includes the basic package plus U.S. State Package, Bar Journal Library, and the ABA Library.



LegalTrac offers indexing for over 800 major law reviews, legal newspapers, specialty law publications, bar association journals and thousands of law-related articles from general interest publications.  (Remote-access available)

Lexis Advance is a full-text legal information retrieval system. Allegheny County Law Library access is limited to: PENNSYLVANIA court cases, statutes (legislative materials), administrative materials, Pennsylvania journals and law reviews, and Pennsylvania secondary materials. Library patrons may also access to FEDERAL materials includes: cases, statutes (congressional materials), and administrative materials. Additionally, appellate cases, statutes and administrative codes from all 50 states are available, as is access to SHEPARD's CITATIONS for the entire database.

Making of Modern Law

Making of Modern Law is a comprehensive full-text collection of over 21,000 legal works published during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. (Remote-access available)



Westlaw is a full-text legal information retrieval system. Allegheny County Law Library access includes: PENNSYLVANIA court cases, statutes (Legislative materials) and administrative materials, Pennsylvania law journals and law reviews, and certain Pennsylvania secondary materials, as well as FEDERAL court cases (U.S. Supreme Court and PA Federal Cases) and statutory (congressional) materials. Keycite, Analytical Plus, Litigation, Practical Law and the National Reporter System images are also available.
