Prof. Rago discusses criminal justice reform in Pennsylvania

Sunday, November 12, 2017

This week Professor John Rago will participate in a roundtable discussion of criminal justice reform efforts in Pennsylvania. Pa. Senators Sharif Street (D-Philadelphia) and Stewart Greenleaf (R-Montgomery/Bucks) will convene the discussion on Monday, November 13 at 6 p.m., in an event open to the public and available via livestream.

Topics will include reducing mandatory minimum sentences, treating addiction, improving conviction integrity, and protecting the victims of human trafficking. Organizers hope to galvanize more individuals “to advocate for reforms that not only save taxpayer dollars, but have the power to transform communities that have been devastated by the revolving door of incarceration and addiction and a justice system bound by outdated mandates and failed policies.”
