Prof. Sizemore testifies during Disability Awareness Summit

Tiffany Sizemore, assistant professor of clinical legal skills, and Dr. Tammy L Hughes, professor and chair of counseling, psychology and special education, recently testified before a legislative panel at State Rep. Dan Miller’s 5th Annual Disability Awareness Summit held March 22-23 in Pittsburgh. 

The two provided testimony to a panel on the needed legal reforms to Pennsylvania’s Juvenile Act, which provides for the treatment and rehabilitation of young people charged with offenses. Hughes identified the need to add screening services and specific rehabilitative treatments. Sizemore identified the changes required to the act regarding training, intake and diversion of 42 Pa. C.S.A. §6301(2) and 42 Pa. C.S.A. §6301(3) of disabled youth.
